Nollywood Star Toyin Adegbola, Others Set for Honours at Oyo Social Media and Distinguished Personalities’ Awards 2026

popular Nollywood actress, Toyin Adegbola, widely known as Toyin Asewo to re Mecca and Toyin Tomato, is among prominent personalities billed to receive honours at the 6th edition of the Oyo Social Media and Distinguished Personalities’ Awards 2026.
The award ceremony, organised by the Omo Iyakunmi Foundation, is scheduled to hold on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at Tees Events Hall, located along Ilora Road, Oyo. Red carpet activities are expected to commence at 12 noon.
According to the organisers, this year’s edition will celebrate individuals who have distinguished themselves across sectors such as education, public service, leadership, media, sports, and entertainment.
Toyin Adegbola will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award in the Entertainment Industry in recognition of her decades-long contributions to Nollywood and cultural promotion.
Other notable awardees include Salimot Adebola Babalola-Ayegboyin, who will be honoured with the Distinguished Career Achievement Award, and Wole Akinleye, who is set to receive the Distinguished Personality Award.
Traditional leadership will also be recognised, as Oba Joel Olatoye is to be conferred with the Distinguished Royal Icon of Excellence Award.
In the media category, Dele Adeyanju Agbaletu will receive the Excellence in Broadcasting Award, while Olukayode Solanke is billed for the Sports Icon Award.
Academic excellence and community impact will also be spotlighted, with Aminat Yetunde and Asiru Opeyemi listed for Academic Excellence Awards, alongside Idris Animashaun, who will be recognised for Community Impact.
Other awardees include Akintayo Suulola for Excellence in Leadership and Character, Afeez Adigun for an Excellence Award, as well as Adetunbi Ige and Azeez Omotayo Salaam, who will be honoured as Distinguished Personalities. Periola Hanifat is also set to receive the Icon of Motherhood Award.
Additionally, Emmanuel Oyelami will be recognised in the academic category, while the late Rahaman Onike will be honoured posthumously for his contributions.
Titilope Victoria is also among the awardees and will receive the Outstanding Service to Humanity Award, highlighting the diversity of recognition across sectors.
Organisers noted that OYSMA has continued to grow into a major platform celebrating excellence at the intersection of digital influence and community development.
They added that the 2026 edition is expected to be one of the largest yet, bringing together influencers, leaders, and stakeholders under one roof.
Tickets for the event are still available in different categories, with organisers assuring adequate security for all attendees.
As anticipation builds, stakeholders say OYSMA 2026 will not only celebrate outstanding achievements but also reinforce Oyo State’s status as a hub for culture, leadership, and digital innovation.
