Oyo Police Nab 17-Year-Old Teenager for Allegedly Defiling 3-Year-Old Girl in Saki
Operatives of the Oyo State Police Command have arrested a 17-year-old suspect, Usman Dauda, in connection with the defilement of a 3-year-old girl in Saki, Oyo State.
The incident unfolded on September 17, 2026, when a distress report was filed at the Saki Divisional Station at about 6:00 PM. The victim had gone missing earlier that afternoon while returning from school.
Following a search by local residents and security officers, the toddler was discovered along a roadside in severe physical distress. Initial inquiries revealed that the suspect had lured and forcefully taken the young girl into his apartment, where he allegedly committed the crime.
Detectives swiftly responded to the revelation, securing the crime scene, arresting Dauda, and recovering critical physical evidence tied to the offense.
The young survivor was immediately rushed to a medical facility in Saki, where she is undergoing clinical treatment and receiving psychotherapeutic support.
To ensure a thorough inquiry and prosecution, the case has been transferred to the Gender Desk of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) at Iyaganku, Ibadan. Police authorities emphasized that, in line with the Child Rights Act, the identity and privacy of the survivor and her family will remain strictly protected throughout the investigation.
Reiterating its zero-tolerance policy against child abuse and sexual violence, the Oyo State Police Command urged residents to stay vigilant and report any acts of violence against vulnerable persons to the nearest station.
