Beyond Political Promises: How Hon. Olajide ‘Odidiomo’ is Transforming Oyo South with ₦1 Billion Multi-Sector Project Rollout

In a political landscape where representation is frequently measured by legislative debate alone, Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Olajide—popularly known as Odidiomo—is setting a new standard in constituency development. The Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) candidate for Oyo South Senatorial District has unveiled a massive suite of completed, ongoing, and upcoming constituency projects valued at over ₦1 billion.

Spanning modern digital technology, healthcare, clean water supply, and community infrastructure, this initiative reflects a strategic push to deliver direct, functional benefits to constituents as he prepares his bid for the Senate in the 2027 general elections.

Empowering the Next Generation: 10 New Digital Learning Centres

A flagship component of the ₦1 billion intervention is the establishment of 10 digital learning centres in secondary schools across Ibadan. Designed to bridge the digital divide, these facilities equip students with modern technology tools, fostering skills critical for digital literacy, entrepreneurship, and future employment in a rapidly evolving economy.

“While others are busy in the market, I am busy building the future of your children,” Odidiomo noted through a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs, Tolu Mustapha.

Beneficiary Schools Include:

  • Baptist Secondary School, Liberty Road, Oke-Ado
  • Eleyele Grammar School, Fan Milk Road, Eleyele
  • Adifase High School, Apata
  • Bashorun Ogunmola Grammar School, behind Lister Building, Ring Road
  • Community High School, Ekotedo, Ibadan
  • Peoples Girls Grammar School, Molete
  • Ibadan Boys High School, Oke-Bola
  • Army Barracks Grammar School, Eleyele
  • Our Lady of Apostles, Odo-Ona/Apata
  • African Church Grammar School, Apata, Ibadan

Healthcare and Modern ICT Infrastructure

Expanding beyond basic secondary education, the lawmaker’s technology-driven development agenda includes major infrastructure investments in Ido Local Government Area and surrounding axes:

  1. ₦200M+ ICT Centre at Anfaani: Nearing completion, this high-capacity facility is tailored for youth empowerment, digital skills development, and regional tech inclusion.
  2. Bako ICT Centre: Planned construction in Bako, Ido Local Government Area, to extend digital access to outlying communities.
  3. 50-Bed Health Centre: Groundbreaking and sod-turning scheduled in Ido LGA in the coming week to boost regional healthcare access.

Clean Water Supply Across Oyo South

Addressing one of the most pressing basic infrastructure challenges in the district, Odidiomo has facilitated multiple borehole projects across key locations:

  • Ward 10, Ido Local Government Area
  • Ward 9, Ibadan South-West Local Government Area
  • Imalefalafia Area, Oke-Ado
  • Anfaani House / Ring Road Axis, Ibadan

These interventions provide immediate relief to residents, ensuring dependable access to clean potable water and reducing reliance on unsafe sources.

Sustainability and Sustainable Governance: The Project Audit Committee

To ensure that these installations remain operational rather than falling into disuse, a specialized review committee was tasked with auditing all past and present projects facilitated by Odidiomo. The committee evaluated the condition and functionality of existing infrastructure to guide necessary repairs and upgrades.

“The essence of representation is impact. It is about identifying the needs of the people, deploying resources strategically, and ensuring that the benefits get directly to the communities,” stated Tolu Mustapha.

Looking Ahead: Expanding Scope to Ibarapaland

The ₦1 billion framework signals a deliberate strategy to broaden constituency development beyond the core urban centers of Ibadan. Future phases of the Oyo South development agenda are set to cover rural and underserved areas, extending down to Ibarapaland.

By turning political representation into visible, measurable community assets, Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Olajide ‘Odidiomo’ is building a track record aimed at transforming quality of life across the entire senatorial district.
