The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Oyo State Chapter, has voiced strong condemnation of the increasing insecurity plaguing Nigerian tertiary institutions.

This follows the tragic murder of Tobiloba, a second-year student at Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo.

In a statement by NAWOJ Chairperson Mrs. Omolola Alamu, and released by the Association’s Secretary, Mrs. Eniola Adeaga, the organization expressed grave concern over the insufficient security measures in place to protect students.

Alamu underscored that educational institutions should be sanctuaries for learning, not perilous environments.

She urged both private and public universities to establish special monitoring teams to regularly inspect student hostels and halls of residence.

The NAWOJ Oyo State Chapter extended its heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased student and prayed for divine strength to help them endure this irreplaceable loss.
