2027: Fatola Constitutes Campaign Council for Ibadan Southwest/Northwest Federal Constituency

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Ibadan Southwest/Northwest Federal Constituency, Hon. Samson Opeyemi Fatola, has announced the constitution of his campaign council ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Fatola said the formation of the council followed extensive consultations with party leaders, elders and stakeholders across the constituency, describing the move as a strategic step towards strengthening the party’s grassroots mobilisation.

In a statement announcing the development, the candidate said the council would drive his campaign and coordinate activities aimed at securing victory for the PDP in the forthcoming elections.

He congratulated the appointed leaders, coordinators and directors, describing their selection as recognition of their loyalty to the party, leadership capacity and commitment to community development.

Fatola said the campaign council would be responsible for mobilising support for his agenda, which he described as The Covenant Code, a five-pillar manifesto designed to address the developmental needs of the constituency.

According to him, the manifesto focuses on sustainable urban transformation, grassroots welfare, healthcare development and job creation, among other priorities.

As part of preparations for the elections, Fatola announced that the campaign council would be formally inaugurated on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at the PDP Secretariat in Molete, Ibadan.

He urged all appointees to prepare for the assignment, stressing the need for unity, discipline and a shared commitment to delivering effective representation to the people of Ibadan Southwest and Northwest.

The candidate also disclosed that appointment letters would be available for collection at the party secretariat immediately after a strategic meeting with the Ibadan Southwest Local Government Executive Committee.

The meeting, he said, would bring together the party’s official candidates for the State House of Assembly and House of Representatives across the Southwest to deliberate on strategies for victory and preparations for the 2027 elections.

Fatola called on party members and supporters to close ranks and work collectively towards achieving the PDP’s electoral objectives.

He said the campaign would focus on taking the party’s message to communities across the constituency, with grassroots mobilisation expected to play a central role in the process.

“The work to rewrite our constituency’s story starts today. Let’s get to work,” Fatola said.
