OYSMA 2026 Set to Celebrate Excellence and Positive Impact in Oyo State -

Anticipation is gradually building as preparations continue for the 6th edition of the Oyo Social Media and Distinguished Personality Awards (OYSMA 2026), an annual event dedicated to celebrating outstanding individuals, organizations, and contributors making meaningful impacts across Oyo State and beyond.

The prestigious awards ceremony, powered by the OmoIyaKunmi Foundation under the leadership of its founder, Akinkunmi Saheed Siyanbola, is scheduled to hold on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at Tees Events Hall, Ilora Road, Oyo.
According to the organizers, this year’s edition promises to be bigger and more impactful, with a focus on recognizing excellence, innovation, leadership, advocacy, and community development through several award categories spanning politics, media, entertainment, education, religion, tradition, and social influence.

Some of the notable categories include Outstanding Activists of the Year, Most Enterprising and Innovative Social Media User, Most Popular Social Media Couple, Sports Personality of the Year, Social Media Personality of the Year, Most Active Student Leader, Entertainment Personality of the Year, Most Recognized and Dedicated Public Servant of the Year, Most Popular Media Outfit of the Year, and Most Vibrant Contributor in Politics.

The event will also feature Posthumous Awards in honour of notable personalities whose legacies continue to inspire society.
Organizers further revealed that distinguished awards would be presented to deserving individuals across religious, traditional, academic, and community advocacy sectors.

Speaking ahead of the event, the founder of OmoIyaKunmi Foundation, Akinkunmi Saheed Siyanbola, described OYSMA as a platform created to appreciate individuals and institutions contributing positively to societal growth and human development.

He noted that the awards ceremony has continued to gain recognition over the years because of its dedication to celebrating genuine excellence and encouraging positive engagement, especially among youths and social media users.

The 2026 edition is expected to attract distinguished personalities, political leaders, media practitioners, entertainers, students, traditional rulers, religious leaders, and stakeholders from different parts of Oyo State and beyond.
