Royal Boost for Summer as Olubadan Endorses His Vision for Oyo NUJ

The aspiration of Comrade Olusola Oladapo, whose moniker is Summer, got a big boost on Sunday as the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba (Sen) Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, FNSE, expressed confidence in Oladapo’s capacity, experience and maturity to lift the Oyo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) to greater height.

Oba Ladoja spoke when he received Comrade Oladapo in company with the Director-General of his campaign, Comrade Dare Adekanmbi, MNIPR, at his Ondo Street house in Bodija.

The royal father, while responding to the presentation of Summer to him and the qualities that stand him out from the rest, charged him to implement the lofty ideas in his manifesto, especially prioritizing the welfare of members of the union.

He charged all the contestants to play according to the constitution of the union and the rules of the election, tasking them to set a decent standard with their union election.

In his remarks, Summer assured Olubadan of fidelity with his campaign when he wins, stressing that the welfare of members of the union would be topmost in his priority list.

He pledged a turnaround in the fortunes of Oyo NUJ in all areas, including capacity development for members, commercial ventures that will generate revenue for the union, cooperative initiative to alleviate the suffering of members, among others.

Also speaking, the Director General of his campaign, Adekanmbi said he and other well-meaning members are queuing behind Summer because of their trust in his ability to transform the union.

“We are supporting Summer because we can vouch for his integrity and humility. The most important a leader should have apart from competence is integrity. Under his as chairman, members’ welfare is a done deal,” Adekanmbi said.
