OYO STATE GOVERNMENT CONDEMNS ILLEGAL PARKING AND ABADONMENT OF VEHICLES IN THE STADIUM.
The Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports has decried the unwholesome acts of some people parking their vehicles illegally overnight and abadonement of cars within the Lekan Salami Sports Complex, Ibadan.
Honourable Wasilat Adegoke dropped this hint during an unsheduled working visit to inspect the available facilities in the stadium.
The Commissioner admonished the members of public that abadoned their vehicles to remove them immediately stressing that the state govenment through the Oyo State Traffic Management Agency ( OYRTMA) will impound the vehicles after 21 days.
She explained further that the stadium is built for sporting activities and recreation, adding that it is not a dumping ground for vehicles.
While addressing the shop owners and artisans within the premises, she enjoined them to make judicious use of the facilities and maintain clealiness.
She ,however, said the state government will not relent in her efforts in promoting sports and providing youth empowerment programmes to make life more meaningful and convenient for our teeming youths in the state.
