Oyo State Council for Arts and Culture Unveils Fresh Talent in Vibrant Auditions”
In a bid to revitalize and expand the renowned Oyo State Performing Troupe, the Oyo State Council for Arts and Culture recently conducted auditions to discover new artistic talents.
According to a statement by the Commissioner for Information and Orientation,

The auditions, which held today at the Cultural Centre in Mokola, Ibadan, drew enthusiastic participants eager to showcase their skills.
Dr. Wasiu Olatubosun, the Commissioner for the Ministry, emphasized the troupe’s role in promoting Oyo State’s rich cultural heritage and values on a broader stage, fostering positive representation of the State.
Addressing the auditionees, Olatubosun stressed the importance of dedication and perseverance, urging them to align with the Ministry’s visionary agenda. He highlighted the potential for outstanding performances to not only enhance the State’s cultural landscape but also generate revenue through public acclaim.
Mrs. Olayinka Adedeji, the General Manager of the Oyo State Council for Arts and Culture, urged participants to embody the Council’s values and represent the State with excellence should they succeed in the auditions.
The auditions showcased a diverse range of talents, from traditional praise poetry to vibrant dance performances and stirring musical presentations. The event featured a captivating array of artistic displays, including acrobatics, dance drama, and cross-cultural music performances.
A distinguished panel of judges from the Creative Industry, including Oriyomi Duro Ladipo, Biodun Adekanmbi, Christopher Abdul Onibasa, and Ministry directors, meticulously evaluated the candidates to select the most promising talents.
The auditions were organized by a dedicated nine-member committee chaired by Mr. Adekunle Agboola, comprising directors from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Oyo State Council for Arts and Culture, along with esteemed creative artists.
