MESSAGE BY PRINCE AYODEJI ABASS- ALESHINLOYE,MDII :THIS IS A SACRIFICE WORTH MAKING. IT IS A MODEST BUT STRATEGIC ONE FOR THE GROWTH AND GREATER GOOD OF OUR CONSTITUENCY- OLUYOLE LOCAL GOVERNMENT

My dear brothers and sisters of Oluyole Local Government.
Respected leaders, elders, party faithful, and my beloved people,
I stand before you today with a heart full of gratitude and a deep sense of responsibility.

First, let me say this clearly — thank you. Thank you for your love, your trust, your prayers, and your unwavering support throughout my journey. Without you, I would not be standing here today.

Today, I bring a message that is both personal and for the greater good of our constituency.

After deep reflection, wide consultations with our leaders, stakeholders, and higher authorities who entrusted me with the responsibility I currently hold, I have taken a decision… a decision that comes from sacrifice, from love for our people, and from a desire to see Oluyole rise higher.

This decision was not taken lightly. It is also influenced by the critical role I played in stabilizing our great party and our constituency during the recent congresses at all levels, a responsibility I remain deeply committed to.

My people, I will not be contesting for the Oluyole Federal Constituency seat in the coming election.
I know this may come as a surprise to many of you… but let me explain from my heart.

Distinguished ladies and gentlemen, my current position as a Federal Character Commissioner is a historic opportunity for our people. The position is not just a title. It is history. For the very first time, an indigene of Oluyole is sitting at that level, representing Oyo state and our people in Oluyole on the national stage. .If I choose to leave this position now, we risk losing that opportunity, which is not an automatic slot for Oluyole and it may not return to Oluyole for a very long time.If I choose to leave this position now, there is no guarantee that such an opportunity will return to our constituency anytime soon.
So I asked myself:
What is more important — my personal ambition, or the collective progress of my people?” And the answer was clear.
Therefore, I believe it is in the best interest of our constituency to retain this position while allowing another capable individual to contest for the federal legislative seat. This way, Oluyole stands a better chance of securing two key positions at the federal level. We are gaining strength.
We are gaining voice.
We are gaining more representation at the federal level.
And for me, that is a sacrifice worth making.
Because leadership is not about self.
Serving you has never been a burden to me, it is my passion, it is my calling, it is what gives me joy.

For me, this is a sacrifice worth making. Leadership is about service, and service requires putting the collective interest above personal ambition. Serving with passion has always been my guiding principle, and I will continue to give my best in every responsibility entrusted to me.

To all those who have aspirations to contest, I wish you the very best. Go out there, represent our people with dignity, and always remember — the interest of Oluyole must come first.

To the good people of Oluyole, I say thank you. Thank you for your unwavering support, your trust, and your belief in my leadership over the years. Your encouragement has been my strength, and I do not take it for granted.
I assure you that my commitment to you remains unshaken. I will continue to stand by you, work for you, and represent your interests at all times.
Together, we will continue to move Oluyole forward.
Thank you, and God bless you all.

Signed:

Prince Ayodeji Abass Aleshinloye,MDII
Federal Character Commissioner,Oyo State
