‘I Was Once in Your Shoes, Face Your Studies and Uphold Good Morals for a Better Future’ — Egbeda Vice-Chairman, Ibrahim Simple

The Vice-Chairman of Egbeda Local Government Area and Political Administration Head of Ajorosun Local Council Development Area, Hon. Ibrahim Oladeebo Simple, has urged pupils to take their studies seriously and embrace good morals as pathways to a successful future.
Hon. Oladeebo gave the charge on Thursday at the Catch Them Young Initiative Campaign held at Brendan Primary School, Kumopayi, Olodo, Ibadan.
The grassroots politician expressed excitement and fulfilment as he returned to his alma mater more than 30 years after leaving the school, describing the visit as a moment of motivation and inspiration.
He stressed the importance of quality education to societal development, noting that education had played a key role in shaping his personal growth and political journey, making him a reference point in Egbeda Local Government and Oyo State at large.
Recalling his days at Brendan Primary School, where he served as a member of the school band, Oladeebo attributed his present achievements to focus, resilience and dedication, values he said he imbibed early in life.
According to him, his return to the school symbolises hope for pupils, particularly those in public primary schools across the 33 local government areas of Oyo State.
The first Health Prefect of Brendan Primary School further encouraged pupils to remain disciplined, hardworking and morally upright, stressing that such virtues would guarantee success and lasting relevance in society.
“My visit is to motivate these young pupils and to remind them of the importance of dedication, focus and good morals. I was once in their position, and today I am ahead. This should encourage them to believe that they too can achieve great things. I see future leaders, respected politicians, world-class technologists, renowned artistes and successful entrepreneurs among them,” he said.
Hon. Oladeebo also assured residents of Egbeda of continued democratic governance, calling for sustained cooperation with the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde, which he said has strengthened key sectors such as education, health, security and the economy, beyond 2027.
Earlier, the Coordinator of the Catch Them Young Initiative and Bright Lens Media Networks, Mrs. Ayodeni Aluko, appealed to parents and teachers to deliberately nurture pupils’ talents by imparting essential skills, virtues and life values necessary for nation-building.
The event, which attracted key stakeholders including the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Egbeda Chapter, Mr. Oyetunde Oyerinde, featured the inauguration of various clubs such as Health, Environment, Press, Security and JETS clubs.
