First Electric Bus Unveiled in Ibadan.
Ibadan-based businessman, Mr. Dotun Sanusi, introduced the city’s inaugural electric bus, marking a significant step towards a sustainable future.
The launch ceremony included plans for a pilot scheme targeting okada and tricycle riders in the Ona-Ara local government area. Sanusi emphasized the initiative’s goal of reducing carbon emissions and modernizing transportation.
The 100-seater bus made its inaugural journey from Ilaji Hotel and Sports Resort to Amuloko and Olorunsogo, receiving applause from residents.
Sanusi also announced plans to transition motorcycle and tricycle businesses to electric vehicles within four weeks, with charging stations powered by solar energy to be installed at the hotel.”
