Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, Takes Action to Address Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder After Bodija Explosion

In response to the recent explosion in the Bodija area of Ibadan, which resulted in five fatalities, 77 people sustaining injuries, and 58 houses being damaged, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State established an Emergency Operation Centre.

The facility, situated at the state Housing Corporation in Bodija, Ibadan, is designed to provide support and address post-traumatic stress disorder among the survivors.

In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Sulaimon Olanrewaju, Governor Seyi Makinde announced that victims of the Bodija incident are encouraged to reach out for medical support. The survivors, experiencing respiratory illnesses or symptoms indicative of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, can call 09047190962 to register their complaints.

The State Government has facilitated access to medical specialists, and a dedicated facility has been established for this purpose at the state Housing Corporation in Bodija, where the Emergency Operation Centre is located. It is emphasized that the provided number is solely for health-related complaints.
