Abiola Ajimobi: A Lost Rare Gem – Baàmẹ̀kọ́ of Ibadanland.
As we mark the posthumous birth anniversary of the late enigmatic Governor of Oyo State, Senator Isiaq Abiola Ajimobi. The Baàmẹ̀kọ́ of Ibadanland, Oloye Saheed Oladele, has reiterated that the late governor was a lost rare gem. Late Governor Ajimobi would have been 75 today if he were alive. He died four years ago at the age of 71.
In a press statement released by the media office of Baàmẹ̀kọ́, Oloye Saheed Oladele, the Chairman/CEO of Erudite Group stated that Oyo State would continue to bemoan the irreparable death of late Governor Ajimobi because of his iconic achievements as a two-term governor of Oyo State. “Oyo State lost a gem, rare to find in Late Ajimobi who was a role model in appearance, acts, deeds and speech. He was a quality personality who would not take half measures in his approach to project execution, reason the projects he implemented as a governor, scattered across the state, still stand solid till today, six years after he left government.”
Baàmẹ̀kọ́ asserted further, “If a woman did not cohabit with two husbands, she would not know who is more tolerant and better. Late Governor Ajimobi did not only mean well for Oyo State, but he also acted in the best interest of the people of Oyo State. He was a conscientious and compassionate leader who left indelible marks in the minds of those who crossed his paths,” Oloye Oladele averred.
Baàmẹ̀kọ́ described Late Ajimobi as a forthright and fearless leader who would speak truth to the power and the powerless, not minding whose ox was gored. “Senator Isiaq Ajimobi had immortalised himself in several ways, and part of them is a building at the University of Ibadan, which houses the Institute of Peace and Strategic Studies, a confirmation that the late Senator was a man of peace.”
Baàmẹ̀kọ́ prayed for the repose of the late Senator’s soul and asked Allah to continue to make his grave blissful for him.
